The Non-Invasive, Drug-Free, Pain-Free Treatment

At Animal Wellness and Rehab Center we are proud to offer our clients Companion Laser Therapy. Laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free treatment to treat various conditions. Whether your pet is rehabilitating from trauma or injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, your companion can benefit from laser therapy.

How Laser Therapy Works

When your pet has an injury or painful area, we target the injured area with the laser. It stimulates the cells to promote growth and repair. In other words, it “jump starts” your pet’s cells and helps them to work more quickly and effectively. has been shown to release natural endorphins, providing intensive pain relief.

It also aids all stages of tissue healing and supports collagen production, greatly speeding up healing of wounds, soft tissue injuries, and minor fractures. It is directly anti-inflammatory because it increases dilation of blood vessels and activates lymphatic drainage. It also stimulates nerve cell regeneration, making it a vital tool in spinal injuries. Because laser therapy increases comfort and mobility, it can help relieve pain without the use of drugs.

The Benefits of Laser Therapy

Although it is most notably used for natural pain relief and wound healing, it has dramatic effects on other common conditions such as:

  • Hot spots
  • Lick granulomas
  • Other dermatological disorders
  • Ear infections
  • Anal gland inflammation
  • Gingivitis/stomatitis
  • Cystitis
  • Pancreatitis
  • Arthritis
  • Intervertebral disc disease
  • Brachial plexus and other neurological injuries
  • Limber tail syndrome

The Benefits of Laser Therapy after Surgery

We use laser therapy on every patient post-operatively to decrease swelling around the incision and even at dental extraction sites. We have found that in using the laser, the pet is far less likely to lick at the incision or experience other common post-operative conditions such as seromas or swelling.

What to Expect

Since the therapy does not cause any pain for pets, we do not sedate or restrain your pet. In fact, the experience is usually quite pleasant and comforting to them.

We wear eye protection and place eye protection on your pet to protect us and your pet from any eye damage.

Each treatment lasts a few minutes, but the length and frequency of treatments vary with your pet’s condition. As the laser is administered, your pet will relax and enjoy the treatment.

Most patients require several treatments for the most significant benefit. For this reason, we recommend a multi-visit treatment plan. We will recommend a treatment plan specific to your pet’s condition.

Summary

Laser therapy is a safe and effective way to help your pet feel better and heal faster. We can use laser treatment in combination with other types of treatment very effectively. If you have any questions, please contact us so we can set up an appointment.

Sincerely,
